To ask the Secretary of State for Education
(1) what steps he is taking to deliver parenting classes within the school curriculum;
(2) whether he has made an estimate of the number of schools which offer parenting classes to their pupils.
Comment by #wco: All parents-to-be should be made to attend parenting classes.
We should be including the same level of Parenting Class and care requirements to expecting parents as is afforded to and required by Foster Carers.
Only by education will society understand that having a child is not a passport to a new home or a lifestyle choice. In addition, with mandatory parenting classes, their children should be better cared for and a better understanding of the commitment, time and expense required to look after a child.
